Joanne Williams\' new FOTO-BOAT & IGFA art show reminder.
A quick reminder that the International Game Fish Association –IGFA—AnnualTournament of Art is just around the corner. This is an Invitational Exhibition of Marine & Wildlife Art by internationally selected artist, which I am very proud to have been asked to be a part of and will have a booth with some of my artwork on display. I will be exhibiting images from my latest African Safari, plus images from the Falkland Islands and other parts of the world as well as Florida.
The IGFA has also asked me to unveil my new, innovative “FOTO-BOAT”!! Hell’s Bay Boat Works, my foto-boat’s manufacturer, assisted me in customizing this craft to my specifications for photographing wildlife “up close and personal”.
This unique craft can safely and silently (with my guidance) move into less than 6” of water enabling my clients of all levels of expertise, with varying sizes of lenses, to photograph remote rookeries, nesting chicks, ‘full-frame’ feeding and mating activities, ’gators, and other varied wildlife.
I purchased three of the heaviest-duty Gitzo monopods (which can hold 30+ lbs.) and had them custom-tooled for specific deck-plates, which are safely and strategically placed around the boat for optimum shooting opportunities. I also custom-designed shorter monopods that can handle the heavy-duty Wimberly ball heads (as well as Arca-swiss etc.) getting you down and low for those intimate eyeball, portrait shots.
The boat is light, swift, silent, and comfortable with bean bags for your gear and your rear, and also with water-proof hatches. I will not only be your photo-guide, but will be offering photo instruction (conventional and digital) upon request.
This unique Foto-Boat will be on display outside the museum throughout the Exhibition, which begins Saturday, February 26th – 10a.m.-6:00 p.m. through Sunday, February 27th 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p. m. This is held at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame Museum, 300 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach….I-95 to Griffin Road Exit. For more information go to IGFA’s website at: www.igfa.org.
