Most people usually think of the Big Five when they associate the wildlife of Africa, which are the lion, leopard, water buffalo, rhino, and elephant. Seldom are the birds given a great deal of thought initially. Often, midway through my tours, a guest will suddenly pop up with a comment about how many birds they’ve been able to photograph and that they had no idea there were so many different species. Well, a lot of their success is due to my experienced driver/guides who are educated and devout wildlife experts and bird enthusiasts. I’ve also encouraged the guides to learn a little bit about photography and to understand the needs of my photography-oriented clients. I’ve spent time with them teaching about lighting, angles of a shot, looking through lenses to understand distances etc. so that when a great photo opportunity suddenly pops up, they know exactly what to do quickly!! Most of the time we have big successes getting the images we want. This newsletter is featuring some of my favorite Birds of Africa!

Those of you who have read my newsletters in the past or have been on my Africa tours know that my trips there have one major special feature making for a fabulous opportunity. I limit my tour size and also allow each van to carry only two photographers per van to allow for ample space for camera gear and full views for optimum photo opportunities.

Let me also be perfectly clear that you do NOT need to be a photographer to enjoy my trips….just love viewing the wildlife you will see!! My guides & I strive to make your wildlife adventure memorable. My trip to Kenya this August still has a couple of spaces available, so if you are interested, please do let me know soon.

For details on prices, dates, locations etc., feel free to call me on my cell (954) 914-5884, but I recommend you visit my website at: www.joannewilliamsphoto.com

Happy Shooting and “KEEP YOUR APERTURE YOUR PRIORITY”!!!

Photo Researchers, Editors, and Publishers:

As stated in previous newsletters, at no obligation to you, send me a “want list” of images you are looking for that may coincide with a trip I’m about to take, or have recently taken, and I’ll do my very best to seek out that subject and shoot it with your request in mind. This may save you some expense, give me a specific mission and possibly a sale of that image. It’s a ‘win, win situation’!

A quick reminder that my library of 35mm original slides houses approximately 75,000 images, and my digital library presently holds over 100,000 (and growing-hourly)!

My website holds an in-depth Stock Shop for your quick review: www.joannewilliamsphoto.com
